As part of the 48th Military Fencing World Championship, the traditional Gift Exchange event was held yesterday at the Hotel Silken, bringing together the Chiefs of Mission from each participating country in a warm and respectful atmosphere.
This ceremony, deeply rooted in the customs of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), represents far more than a symbolic exchange of gifts: it is a celebration of friendship, unity, and the shared values that bind nations through sport.

During the event, the President of CISM emphasized the importance of preserving this tradition, stating that “the Gift Exchange is a gesture that reflects the true spirit of CISM: solidarity, respect, and peace through sport. It is a custom we must continue to honor and uphold.”
The evening unfolded in a spirit of camaraderie, where delegates not only exchanged gifts, but also stories, smiles, and a mutual commitment to strengthening international bonds.
